Broner, Granados Make Weight After Scale Controversy

The fight is on, but not after a minor hitch.

No matter what Adrien Broner does, controversy seems to follow him. This problem wasn't his doing though.

Confusion erupted during Friday's weigh in after the Ohio Athletic Commission declared in the middle of the event that something was wrong with the weighing scale. Adrian Granados, Lamont Peterson and David Avanesyan had already weighed overweight when it was declared that the scale didn't give accurate readings. The equipment was replaced and the three were allowed to tip the scale one more time.

Granados weighed 148 pounds the first time out. Using the accurate scale, El Tigre was 146.5.  Broner meanwhile, didn't have to weigh in again because he made weight with the inaccurate scale. Broner left no doubt when he clocked 146.5 in his first try.  Peterson and Avanesyan were initially booked at half a pound over the welterweight limit. They were later declared to be 146.6 and 147 respectively.
