Redkach vs Cruz Post-Fight Stats Analysis

The Compubox punch stats from the Ivan Redkach vs Luis Cruz bout told a story of a very closely fought contest. While Redkach out-threw Luis Cruz by 125%, he was only a +5 in total punches landed at 164 against 159. If we dissect the punch stats per round, both fighters won 5 rounds each in punches landed per round. That just showed how close the fight was on a per punch basis.

Taking a closer look at the punches landed, Cruz landed more than twice as many jabs as Redkach at 32-14. Redkach meanwhile was swiniging for the fences as he landed a total of 150 power shots as compared to Cruz's 127.

That was the story of the fight: Cruz started by outboxing Redkach and setting up his punches with his jab. On the other hand, Redkach was going for the big ones instead of leading with his jab. But while Cruz was head-hunting, Redkach invested on body shots and landed three times more than Cruz at 39-11. That was probaly one of the reason why Cruz appeared to drop his hands late in the fight, causing his two knockdowns.

The Redkach-Cruz bout was the first live scoring event of Throwdown Scoring, boxing's first and only Live Scoring mobile App powered by Compubox.
