Who Wins Toe To Toe Tuesday Main Event Between Ivan Redkach and Luis Cruz?

Fox Sports 1's Toe to Toe Tuesday should be just that- a toe to toe rumble when hard hitting Ivan Redkach (19-1, 15 KOs) battles Puerto Rican brawler Ivan Cruz ( 22-4, 16 KOs) on April 19 at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The Ukraine-born Redkach bounced back from his first pro defeat by knocking out Daniel Martinez in three rounds last October 14. That win was Redkach's 14th KO win within three rounds. Six of those 14 were first round stoppages.

Similarly, the rugged Cruz started his career with a path of destruction, winning 19 in a row and knocking out 15 in the process. He's since hit a roadblock  with just three wins in his last seven bouts. Two of those losses were close decisions to Juan Carlos Burgos and Jose Felix Jr. Cruz though is coming off a victory over Roberto Acevedo and he hopes to rejuvenate his career with  a victory over the touted Redkach:

"I plan on rejuvenating my career with this fight. Redkach is a tough fighter but it's nothing that I haven't seen before. I want to get this big win. It's now or never for me."

Redkach has other plans. He wants to move over to bigger fights:

" I know that I have a strong opponent, but I am determined to impress the fans and show that I am ready to challenge the elite in my division. I've trained very hard and I'm ready to fight."

With everything else ready, let's take a loot at how the fighters stack up in the stat sheets.

Based on Compubox numbers, the fighters are almost evenly matched in terms of offense with Cruz having the slight advantage in punches thrown and landed. However, the big difference between the two is in defense. Redkach allows just 61.9 hits per fight while Cruz takes 108.7 punches in every outing. That's a big 57% difference which could spell victory for Redach.

Cruz does have a very good chin and is very durable but he has a tendency of keeping his hands low which makes him susceptible for counters. That could be the reason for his high punch absorption. Against a heavy hitter and effective puncher like Ivan Redkach, that could be his downfall.

Will Redkach move to the elite ranks? Or Will Cruz rejuvenate his career? Make your predictions, score the fight live and track fight stats online at www.throwdownscoring.com
