Tyson Fury Retires, Then Unretires All In One Day

Boxing Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been nothing short of controversial lately. After pulling out of his October 29 rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, allegations of a failed drug test due to cocaine surfaced. Fury responded to the accusations in the most Tyson Fury manner: photoshopping his face on a memorable image of Al Pacino's Tony Montana character in the acclaimed Scarface movie and calling himself 'Tyson Montana'. Two days later, Fury shocked the world with this tweet:

But while astonishing that announcement was, Fury surprised the world barely three hours later when he took back his statement:

Fury went on to confirm that he has really been 'unwell', as what his management team reasoned when he pulled out of the Klitschko bout last week. Tweeted Fury:

When he feels better though, the titles may no longer be there for him to defend. Both the WBO and WBA are in a wait and see situation right now, awaiting what transpored of the VADA report. Said the WBA in a statement last Friday:

“The Committee of Champions will consider Fury’s case to make a decision. Regarding the VADA report, they sent a statement in which they inform that the result was positive. Now we are waiting to see if Fury’s team will request the opening of the B sample test.”

For its part, the WBO- thru its President Paco Valcarcel said that:

We have to wait for the British board to notify us of the information they have got regarding the doping tests. We don’t want to go any further until we receive the medical certification and the results.”

Fury's supposed October 29 opponent, Wladimir Klitschko has moved on from Fury. The former champion has been busy trying to negotiate a bout with IBF champion Anthony Joshua. Whether the talks reach fruition remains to be seen.
